Both the red 911 prototype and the blue 912 were restored by my old friend Dennis Frick in deepeest Pennsylvania. Back in about 1987, I started looking for the world's oldest surviving 911 for an article to mark the model's 25th anniversary. Long story short, I found the red car, then unrestored, owned by Don Meluzio in York, Pennsylvania, where my family lived. The article appeared in Panorama, then Don had Dennis restore the car, and I shot it again when it was finished. Don still owns the car.
